Push to Fire Interview: The Good Natured
by Suzy Harrison

The Good Natured

The Good Natured are an Electronica/Pop band from the UK and can be found playing all over the UK and will be in New York later this year. Singer Sarah took some time out to answer some of Push To Fire's questions.

First of all could you tell me who you are and what you do in the band?
Sarah, I sing and write.

And who else is in the band and what do they do?
Hamish plays bass, George plays drums.

I first saw you at Live@Leeds earlier this year, how was that experience?
It was so quiet, yet intimate, we actually really enjoyed ourselves.

And more importantly, how was Latitude this weekend?
Amazing, so honoured to have played the Lake Stage for Huw Stephens, had a great gig and wonderful weekend.

Which of the other acts playing blew you away the most?
The XX, incredible. I also saw Crystal Castles, Alice Glass is amazing.

How would you describe your music to someone who had never heard it before?
Dark electronic pop.

You seem to have a very distinctive style as a band. How important is fashion to the band and what are your main influences when it comes to fashion?
Fashion's important, I would say main influences are the cure, robert smith, siouxsie soux. I love hairspray.

What's your favourite song to play live and why?
Red Skin, its epic!

How did you get into playing music? Has it been something that you have done from a young age or something you picked up later on?
Something from a young age, starting off playing recorder, being in a choir, playing keys, then drums!

And how did you get together as a band?
Me and my brother hamish have been doing it for about 2 years, I met George at uni in October then we had the perfect line up.

Your MySpace says you are unsigned.... is this still the case? Any hopes/plans for a signing?
We are still unsigned, very much hoping to be signed soon, would be amazing.

What's your current single called and how can we get a copy (vinyl or digital?)
Its called Your Body Is A Machine, its on Itunes, Amazon, Play, and I am selling signed vinyls from my myspace.

What are your plans for the rest of the year - will you be recording any new material?
Yes, all the time!

Also will you be touring further north any time soon?
Hopefully Sheffield and Nottingham soon!
