Push to Fire Interview: Heights
by Sean Pattison

Heights

Heights are a five-piece hardcore band hailing from Welwyn Garden City in the United Kingdom. Amongst their busy tour shedule in the summer of 2010, Push To Fire caught up with the band for their appearance at Hevy Festival to ask them some questions about life in the band.

Did you arrive at Hevy this morning?
No, got here late last night because a lorry broke down on the motorway on the way here so we didn't get here until about 10pm and we had to convince the security to let us into the campsite so late.

Will you be sticking around to see all of the bands this weekend?
Yeah definitely, we wouldn't miss Glassjaw for anything.

Who are you looking forward to see play this weekend?
Glassjaw, Comeback Kid, Gallows, Trash Talk, Napalm Death and Devil Sold His Soul just to name a few!

Have you got a tour planned for this year?
Yeah, we're on tour in November with Flood of Red and House Vs Hurricane, then we're possibly going around Europe in December.

Are you going to or have you played any other festivals this year?
We've played at Download, Underage, Sonisphere and T in the Park. Download was the best.

Who's the best band you've ever played with?
Knee Deep in The Dead from Leeds.

What's the weirdest/funniest thing that's happened at one of your shows?
I got poked in the eye at a gig the other day (vocalist Tom shows us his bright red blood shot eye). Also, when we played a show recently where there was a homeless guy outside the venue begging for money so everyone took him into the gig and got him really drunk, then he ended up stage diving!

What 'major' things have you got planned for the next 12 months?
We're recording an album that's going to be coming out on Small Time Records. We're also meant to be touring in lots of cool countries.

What's the dumbest thing you've done on tour?
Anything Tom Hutton does!

Where is the best place you have played so far?
Norwich was a crazy show and probably one of the best we've done.

Have any of you got a bad or funny habit on tour?
Dean snores and Tom picks his nose.

Quickfire:
McDonald's or Burger King?

McDonald's.

English or American football?
English.

Marmite – Love it or Hate it?
Love it.

Bath or Shower?
Shower.
