First off please could you tell me who you are and what you do in the band?
My name is Troy and I play guitar and frown in the Amity Affliction!
How's the UK tour going? Have you toured with Asking Alexandria before?
It's first time we have toured with AA, we have a lot coming up together in the next 8 months so we are just becoming aquainted. The UK tour is going amazingly, our new friends Miss May I have made it all the better too.
How does touring the UK compare to touring in Australia?
Well for a start it's cold as shit and wet most of the time. We are having to work a lot harder over here to win crowds but it's really rewarding, I do miss fresh fruit and sunshine though!!
What's your favourite thing about the UK... and the worst?
Cheap whiskey in the UK...expensive everything else!
This year's been quite busy for you. What's been the highlight?
Selling out Roundhouse in Australia was amazing,. a milestone for our band.
Why did you decide to record your second album 'Youngbloods' in the US?
I think we just felt like there was no one in australia that we could trust with what we were trying to do with this record. It was a good chance to go to such an amazing place also - I think just the trip was inspiring to us and it came out in the record.
You're playing Soundwave next year? Have you played it before and what's the festival like (for all the non-Australian fans)?
We have played twice but never the entire tour. It's the dream tour in Australia - like 50 bands, 20,000 people a show and just a really reputable tour. I get to tour with Pennywise and Sweat Fletcher the guitarist...win!
What are the plans for 2011?
Survive so I can tell the story.
If you had to come up with a new year resolution for each member of the band, what would you suggest?
I don't have anywhere near enough time to answer that...drink more water is a start!
What helps keep you sane on tour?
Joints and good music...a snifter of whiskey doesn't hurt.
Tell us three bands you've been listening to lately...
Check out Miss May I ,our new friends and brothers. I have also been loving the latest Norma Jean record Meridional. And of course Flood of Red - amazing on and off record!
