Highlights from 2011?
We kept going. It might not sound like much, but just the fact that the band is still kicking, more lively then ever before, is the highlight of my year. Radio play and videos and big shows are all well and good, but it's that feeling that I'm in love with. Lately its been a constant buzzing beneath my skin, and I like it.
How will you finish the year?
As far as Royal Chant goes, we'll be wrapping up things on Dec. 3 at FBi Social, sharing the stage with some of our favourite bands. It will be smashy-smash-smash. Unless someone wants us for a New Year's Eve fiesta. We're available...
Do you/or the band have a New Year's resolution?
No. If the band has one then they probably have withheld that information from me. That has disappointment written all over it.
Favourite gig from 2011? [Preferably your own]
Manly Fishos with You Am I. That was rather nice.
What will the band be up to in the New Year?
Recording a few singles to keep ourselves busy, and then we're going to the States next Spring. Hopefully we'll stay busy with shows every possible moment, on the road as per usual.
Favourite band from 2011?
My Beloved Monster. We were amazed by their bass player and kept talking about him. When we needed to look for one he was our first choice. Lucky for us he said "yes". He's bang!
Which band should we look out for in 2012?
I'm gonna double down on Fait Accompli. I really dig what they're doing and get rather riled up that no one pays them any attention. That ain't right.
Sum up 2011 in a few words.
A glorious failure. It was lovely.
