Push to Fire Interview: Outcry Collective
by Sean Pattinson

Outcry Collective

Outcry Collective are an energetic hardcore band from the south of England who are set to tour with Young Guns through April and May of 2010. Push To Fire caught up with the lads during their recent tour with The Computers to get a glimpse of the rock life from their perspective.

How's the tour going for you so far?
It's tough, some shows have a decent turn out but some don't. When we played Glasgow we really enjoyed it but it was really small and not very busy. The tour's been typical of an English touring hardcore band really.

How did the name 'Outcry Collective' come about?
There were five members and we were at college and we all liked how 'Outcry' had a rage and animalistic side and how 'Collective' was more intellectual.

What / who are your biggest influences when writing music?
Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Underoath.

What's the weirdest thing that's happen on tour?
We played in Glasgow and went out in the streets with beers. You can get massively fined by the police so we hid them and hit a bar. Afterwards we found our beers, but some local giant claimed they were his and followed us trying to fight us for them. We got them back in the end and still gave him a couple for some unknown reason.

Who would you most like to share a stage with?
The Bled.

How is it being on the road with Chickenhawk and The Computers?
Really tough but inspiring and character building.

What's the thing you miss the most when on tour?
My nice hot bath with my manly candles, the kitchen because I love to cook and my brand new Sega Saturn because i'm addicted to Die Hard Arcade. Oh and obviously friends and family!

Do you have plans to play any festivals this year?
Yeah I want to play the ones we haven't played yet including Reading and Leeds. I think we might be playing in Serbia but I might be mistaken.

Quick fire Questions
English or American Football?

English Football.

Riffs or Widdles?
Big fat riffs.

Sleeping or Eating?
Sleeping.
