You’re currently in the recording studio, is this for a new EP or another album?
Hi! Well we are all done now - the new record „Preachers Go To Hell” is out at Engineer Records (UK). „Preachers Go To Hell” is quite a modern record filled with lots of passion and energy. Our goal was to make an album that can stand beside the top artists' records. We spent lots of time in the studio to tweek our songs so we are quite satisfied with the result. The album contains 13 songs including punk-rock, pop-rock, rock and acoustic tracks. I think everyone can find something loveable in this record.
Did the recording process go well? No mishaps or things going wrong?
We got through the recording process quite well. The drums and guitar parts were recorded quickly, and we spent a lot of time with bass tracks and vocals. We worked with a professional sound engineer and also spent tons of time producing the final recordings. We were our own producers so the songs sound the way we really wanted to hear. When we'd finished in the studio we were all satisfied with the quality and result. Next time will be even better! ;)
When was the album released?
„Preachers Go To Hell” was released in Hungary in October 2010. and was released in the UK in February.
In 2008, your album “So Far From Home” was released not only in Hungary, but in the USA as well. Did you find your album was well received over there?
Yes, we had „So far From Home” out in the US through a small indie record label. As they were quite small we didn't get that much feedback on it though. The album was distributed through interpunk.com and basically that's all.
Have you found it hard to introduce your music to other countries, such as over here in the UK etc.?
Well we are mostly promoting ourselves via the Internet. We have our albums up on several websites, such as blog sites, where all the punk-rock fans can see what we are about. We have had lots of downloads on those sites and our website gets views from all over the world. We do gigs as much as we can to visit every country and get to all the fans we have around the world. We have Engineer Records on our side and they are massively helping us in the UK with our promotion.
You’ve done a lot of touring around Europe in the past 4 years, with only 3 UK dates in Scotland. How did you find your time over here?
Scotland was amazing! We do really love UK shores and the countryside; we travelled through amazing places. The shows were okay! Unfortunately when we did the tour lots of American bands like Anti-Flag and The All-American Rejects were also touring in the UK so we did not get a massive crowd but we enjoyed every single gig. We’ve been to Germany, Austria and Russia in the last couple of years and we've had really great times and experiences.
Can we expect to see a full UK tour anytime in the near future?
Well we are really planning to do a whole UK tour this autumn with 7-8 shows and we hope that we can manage this. If we can, we are probably going on tour with the Kent based band 'Call Off The Search'. Until then we are doing a small Europe tour including Germany, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Russia.
Who would you say some of your biggest influences have been on your music?
Honestly the four of us have different influences but mostly 1990s and 2000s pop-punk, punk-rock artists and albums. I don’t want to write specific bands. We have everything from metal to pop.
If you could support any band, who would it be?
A Day To Remember, Bowling For Soup, Silverstein etc… damn we love these bands!
Back to touring, you've got a tour coming up in mid-March, are you looking forward to being back on the road?
I would say we are touring all the time. Since we are not only musicians we are doing mostly „long-weekend” tours or small tours but try to play on every weekend. We are doing a 5 show Ukraine tour in March. We hit Belgium, Germany and Austria on „long-gig-weekend” and we hopefully will do a Russia tour in April and of course we are playing shows in our home country Hungary. Summer gigs are not confirmed yet, but hopefully we will do some festivals.
How do you find the whole experience of being on tour? Is it something you enjoy, or do you find being with the same people everyday for weeks can be a little tiresome?
We are always really excited about going on tour or do simple gigs. This is what we like most. Entertain and enjoy partying with the people. This is what makes us keep doing the band. A longer tour is even better. We love to visit new places and get acquainted with new people. Love to travel. When we're grumpy old men in the future, we will love to remember these times and tell stories to our grandchildren about how we all got through these tours. Lots of fun!
After the March tour, what have you guys got lined up next?
We are planning a full UK tour and a Hungary tour in autumn. I don’t know yet if we will record some new songs by the end of the year or not but we won’t stop playing shows and try to get everywhere in the globe!
